Drainage & Water
- French Drains & Drainage
Solve standing water, soggy lawns, and foundation flooding with properly graded French drains. We use our mini excavator to cut clean, precise trenches at the right slope.
- Pools & Water Features
Excavation for in-ground pools, ponds, and water features. We dig the hole, handle the rough grading, and prep the site so your pool contractor can get right to work.
Site Prep & Grading
- Grading & Leveling
Level your yard, prep a building pad, or fix drainage slopes. Our compact track loader handles fine grading while the excavator tackles the rough cuts.
- Landscape Prep & Clearing
Clear brush, remove debris, and prep your property for new landscaping, sod, or garden beds. We get the ground ready so your landscaper can hit the ground running.
- Driveway & Walkway Excavation
Excavate and grade for new driveways, walkways, and patios. We dig to the right depth and slope for proper drainage and a solid base.
- Utility Trenching
Precise trenching for water, electric, gas, and fiber optic lines. Our mini excavator cuts clean, code-compliant trenches at consistent depths.
Demolition & Removal
- Stump & Root Removal
Complete stump and root ball extraction — no regrowth, no sawdust mess. Our excavator pops stumps up to 24" in minutes, not hours.
- Concrete Demolition
Break up and remove old concrete slabs, sidewalks, driveways, and patios. We handle the demo and haul-away so you don't have to.
- Fence Post Holes
Drill clean, consistent post holes in seconds — even in Eugene's tough clay soil. Available in 6", 9", and 12" diameters.
- Deck & Patio Footings
Dig precise footing holes for decks, patios, pergolas, and other structures. Consistent depth means your project meets code the first time.
Pool excavation & backyard dirt work
We go where the big guys can't. Our equipment fits through a 36-inch gate, so your backyard project actually gets done.
Your backyard isn't built for a 20-ton excavator
Most excavation companies in Eugene run full-size equipment. Machines that weigh 15,000+ pounds, need 8 feet of clearance, and will crack your driveway on the way in. That's fine for new construction on an open lot.
But if your project is behind a fence? Through a gate? Next to your house? Those machines can't get there. The companies that run them will either pass on your job or quote you a fortune to bring in a crane.
We built our whole operation around this problem. Our mini excavator and track loader are both 36 inches wide. Rubber tracks. Low ground pressure. We get in, do the work, and your lawn looks about the same as when we showed up.
Pool excavation
In-ground pool installation starts with the dig, and the dig determines everything after it. Bad excavation means settling, cracking, drainage problems, expensive fixes. Most pool contractors in Eugene don't do their own excavation. They hire it out.
We work with your pool contractor's specs: depth, dimensions, shelf depths for benches and steps, perimeter grade for drainage. The mini excavator does the precision digging. The track loader moves dirt out and handles the surrounding grade.
Here's what homeowners don't think about until it's too late: your pool is in your backyard. Behind your house, behind a fence, limited access. The big excavation outfits look at that and either pass or charge a premium. We do these jobs every week.
Backyard projects we do regularly
Pool & spa excavation
In-ground pools, plunge pools, hot tub pads, spa cavities. We dig to your pool contractor's specs and rough-grade around the pool area.
Ponds & water features
Koi ponds, garden ponds, pondless waterfalls, stream beds. Basin excavation with shelves for planting zones and proper water flow grading.
Backyard drainage
Eugene gets 50+ inches of rain a year. If your backyard turns into a swamp every winter, we install French drains, catch basins, and dry wells to fix it.
Patio & deck prep
We excavate and grade for patios, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, deck footings. Getting the base right is the whole job.
Retaining walls
Trench and footing excavation, cutting benches into hillsides, drainage grading behind the wall. The prep work that makes retaining walls actually retain.
Landscape renovation
Tear out old landscaping, pull stumps, regrade, prep for sod or seed. What would take you weeks with a shovel takes us a few hours.
Why equipment size matters
Our Rippa R13 Pro weighs 3,100 pounds. A typical full-size excavator weighs 15,000 to 40,000. That difference shows up in what happens to your property.
Heavy equipment compacts soil, cracks driveways, and crushes irrigation lines. Our track loader has about 4 PSI of ground pressure. Your boots exert about 8 PSI when you walk. We literally leave lighter footprints than you do.
That means we can drive past your garden beds and work next to your house without the ruts, cave-ins, or vibration damage that come with bigger machines.
Got a backyard project you've been told is too hard to access?
